Best Dog Parks in Boca Raton, FL

Boca Raton is a great city to live in, with lots of opportunities for both residents and tourists. One of the best things about this area is its abundance of dog parks – there’s no shortage of places where your furry friend can get out and run around safely with other dogs. In this post, we’ll share our picks for the top three most popular dog parks in Boca Raton.

Bark Beach at Spanish River Park

The first option is Bark Beach at Spanish River Park which is located at 3001 N State Road A1A, Boca Raton, FL 33487. Like many other parks and beaches within Boca Raton city limits, you need a city permit to visit this park which is only open Friday, Saturday, and Sunday from 7AM - 9PM. This isn't necessarily a park, it is just a portion of the beach that the city allows dogs to come to and be off-leash during certain days and times. Most people will park at Spanish River Park which will also require a permit for parking.

Mizner Bark Dog Park

Mizner Bark Dog Park in Boca Raton is located at 751 Banyan Trail, Boca Raton, FL 33431 and is a great option for those looking to give their pup some much-needed outdoor activity. This large, fenced-in park offers plenty of space for your four-legged friend to run and play off leash with other dogs and has 3 separate sections for large and small breeds. There is a large dog section (over 50 pounds), one area for medium dogs (20-50 pounds), and one area for small dogs (under 20 pounds).

The park also includes several amenities such as shaded benches and picnic tables so owners can relax while their pups have fun, water fountains, washing stations. While you do need a permit to park and bring your dog here which can require a tiny bit of advanced planning, the permit for Mizner Bark is free for city residents.

The park is open daily from 7am - Dusk, with the exception of Wednesday when it opens a little later from Noon - Dusk.

Canine Cove at South County Regional Park

Canine Cove is in unincorporated Boca Raton and part of the much larger Burt Aaronson South County Regional Park which is operated by Palm Beach County. This park is free for everyone and does not require any special permit or residency requirements.

Canine Cove has 2 sections for large dogs (only 1 is open at a time so they can be maintained properly), 1 medium dog section, and 1 small dog section. All of these sections are fenced off and have double gate protection to make sure your dog can't accidentally escape as other people are coming in and out.

Each section has a gazebo so visitors (human and furry) can sit in the shade which really comes In handy during the summer. There are also drinking fountains for humans, pet water fountains, a pet washing station, and plenty of doggy poop bag stands to encourage visitors to pick up after their dogs - it's just the right thing to do!

The park has plenty of parking and is open from sunrise to sunset 7 days per week, but is closed Wednesdays from 12:00 PM - 3:00 PM for maintenance.
